This Wednesday the Wild Women once more came through to support the rink enjoying some drills, thrills and learning before a great competitive game which included a large diversity of age, talent and experience. Olivia Boudette, a hockey coach from the NE, was able to bring a whole new dimension by introducing some power skating concepts to the group which helped their skating skills immeasurably. In fact coaching and mentoring happened all over the ice throughout the night as those with more experience worked with those skating a little more slowly and nervously offering insights and tips for improvement. These women did a wonderful job playing each competitor according to their ability allowing everyone to enjoy a good amount of puck time. In the Skytavern hockey tradition, each team set up their players in such a way that their goal was to get everyone a chance to score. I would go so far as as to say that the mix between competition and cooperation was a perfect one.
