Bad news for Pond Hockey…

Super large snow storms early season often spell doom for pond hockey and so it has come to pass. The weight of the snow pushed down on the thinner ice which forced water up into the snow which makes clearing impossible at this point. Today I went and surveyed and we have 12″ to 14″ of slurry on top of our skating surface with another 4″ to 6″ of snow slowing soaking into the slush. It is thus impossible to clear. Our only hope is that we get a warm spell soon so that the rest of the snow can melt into the pond and we can create a new skating surface. Thats it for now I’m afraid. Thanks to all of you who came to games 1 and 2… we had a blast for sure. Hopefully this won’t be the shortest hockey season in Skytavern’s history. I will keep everyone informed so stay tuned!
